Dear Turkish Citizens, Members of the Turkish Community of Australia and the Australian Friends of Türkiye,

I had the honour of assuming my duties as the Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye in Melbourne as of August 2023.

Together with all my colleagues, including our Attaché offices, we will continue our efforts to provide consular and other services in the best way possible, within our area of responsibility consisting of the states of Victoria, West Australia, South Australia and Tasmania, and to protect the rights and the interests of our citizens.

It is a matter of pride to see the success the Turkish Community of Australia achieved throughout the years and the level reached by the institutions they founded to develop our culture and values.

In the period ahead we, as the Consulate General, will continue to be together with you on every occasion.

In fact, we are all celebrating, with great enthusiasm, the centenary of our Republic founded by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

While starting my duties, I would like to thank my predecessor Consul General Eser Torun and the previous Consuls General for their valuable service.

On this occasion, I also want to commemorate Mr. Şarık Arıyak, Consul General of the Republic of Türkiye and Security Attaché Mr. Engin Sever that were martyred by terrorists on 17 December 1980 in Sydney.
